Hugh Drummond is a vice president in the communications division of O’Neill and Associates and provides crisis communications and public relations support to clients across several industry sectors, including aviation, education, non-profit, health care, hospitality and transportation. His expertise in media relations, corporate communications and marketing is gleaned from previous positions in the private sector, nonprofits, Congress and political campaigns.

Prior to joining O’Neill and Associates, Mr. Drummond was director of communications, marketing and state relations for the Massachusetts American Red Cross. He served on numerous Red Cross disaster relief operations including Hurricane Katrina, the historic Massachusetts floods of 2006, and the Danvers (MA) chemical plant explosion. He was a member of the Red Cross Rapid Response PR Team and acted as a Red Cross national media spokesperson.

Before that, Mr. Drummond was a long-time aide to U.S. Senator Bill Bradley and later led national scheduling and advance operations during Bill’s presidential campaign. In Massachusetts, he was deputy campaign manager to State Senator Warren Tolman during his campaign for governor. Mr. Drummond also worked in Silicon Valley and Seattle for technology companies, including NAVTEQ, where he was director of North American public relations, and at Amdahl in employee communications and corporate relations.

He is a graduate of DeSales University (Pennsylvania) and an Emerging Leaders Fellow at the Center for Collaborative Leadership (University of Massachusetts-Boston). He lives in Winchester, Massachusetts.
