Erika Soto Lamb serves as a director within O’Neill and Associates’ communications practice. Relying on her strong background in public affairs, Ms. Soto Lamb provides clients such as Sovereign Bank, Massachusetts 2020 and the Massachusetts State Lottery with a variety of public relations services. Ms. Soto Lamb’s work to develop a brand identity for her client, Braver, helped O’Neill and Associates win a 2007 merit award from the Publicity Club of New England.
Before joining O’Neill and Associates, Ms. Soto Lamb was manager of media relations for Fidelity Investments, the largest mutual fund company in the country. While there, she oversaw a local market campaign to promote an advertising and philanthropic partnership with Sir Paul McCartney which resulted in coverage on more than 150 broadcast stations across the country. In addition, Ms. Soto Lamb garnered nationwide attention for Fidelity’s leadership in the retirement healthcare market.
Ms. Soto Lamb was previously a regional press secretary for the Democratic National Committee and Kerry Edwards 2004 where she managed regional media relations and cultivated relationships with reporters at targeted outlets. Ms. Soto Lamb also pitched front-page stories that included pro-active campaign messaging. Prior to this, Ms. Soto Lamb was a press aide for the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, where she developed talking points for senior convention officials and oversaw media outreach for community events which resulted in positive news coverage of the convention.
Ms. Soto Lamb cut her teeth in political communications in California as the deputy for public affairs and communications for State Controller Steve Westly. In this capacity, she served as lead speechwriter and worked closely with the communications and policy staff to develop a consistent message during political turmoil, most notably during the historic California recall in 2003. Ms. Soto Lamb also served as a press secretary for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Yes on 57 & 58 campaign where she promoted a bipartisan initiative to balance the budget while working with consultants from both the Republican and Democratic parties to develop campaign messages and strategies resulting in an overwhelming victory.
Ms. Soto Lamb is a graduate of Stanford University, where she received a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science. Ms. Soto Lamb remains involved with her alma mater as a board-member of the Stanford Club of New England. Ms. Soto Lamb is also involved in a number of women’s organizations including the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus (MWPC), MassGAP, the Younger Women’s Task Force (YWTF), Big Sisters of Greater Boston, and the “HillBlazers” Young Professionals Committee of Hillary Clinton for President.
