Helping Haiti

The St. Joseph Family is a nonprofit organization in Haiti that includes the St. Joseph's Home for Boys in Port-au Prince, Wings of Hope in Fermanthe and Wings of Hope in Jacmel. In January 2010, the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that ravaged the Haitian Republic destroyed the St. Joseph Home for Boys' facility.

O’Neill and Associates CEO Thomas P. O’Neill III has supported this organization since its early days , having learned about it through his alma mater, North Cambridge Catholic High School, which serves many students from the Greater Boston Haitian community.

In May of 2010, Tom traveled to Haiti to volunteer with Hearts with Haiti, the non-profit organization that supports all St. Joseph Family endeavors, and a number of other volunteers to aid in reconstructing the devastated facility.

Haiti still needs help; its troubles are far from over. O’Neill and Associates invites you to learn more about this crucial resource for Haitian’s orphaned and disabled children and to help them rebuild. To help Hearts with Haiti and their cause, please donate to the organization's earthquake relief fund by clicking here or by sending a check to one of the two following locations:

The medical clinic in Pele, the poorest town in Haiti, sees as many as 1,000 people each day. The most common conditions include AIDs, tuberculosis and gun shot wounds. Here, Tom is seen standing on the roof of the clinic.

After visiting patients at the clinic, Hearts with Haiti volunteers spent time at the hospital feeding hundreds of children.

Tom stands with a former gang leader from Cité Soleil, which is widely considered to be the most dangerous place in the world. Recruited by a local priest, this man now helps ensure schools are able to operate.

The Cité Soleil high school, seen here, was three stories tall before the earthquake hit.

The St. Joseph's Home for Boys in Port-au Prince was devastated by the January earthquake. Hearts with Haiti volunteers worked hard to restore the back deck for the children to enjoy time outside.
