O’Neill and Associates Announces Hire and Promotions

Boston (July 19, 2006) – O’Neill and Associates, Boston’s leading full-service government relations and public relations firm, today announced the hire of Anne O’Rourke and the promotions of Marika Beaton, Wesley Eberle, Emily Lalone, and Laura Pierce. “I’m proud to recognize these hard-working members of our team who consistently deliver the reach and results our clients require,” said CEO Thomas P. O’Neill III. “These personnel changes are indicators of the continued growth and success of our firm and of our communications practice in particular.”

• Anne O’Rouke has joined O’Neill and Associates communications team as an account coordinator. Ms. O’Rourke is an alumna of O’Neill and Associates internship program, where she assisted on projects for higher education, technology, financial services and health care clients. Ms. O’Rourke’s prior professional experiences include positions with The Ireland Funds, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. She graduated cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor of science in Communication.
  
  
• Marika Beaton has been promoted from account coordinator to account executive within the community relations practice. In this role, Beaton works to ensure that clients gain support for their development initiatives while remaining sensitive to community concerns. Ms. Beaton helps clients define key issues surrounding a proposed development, identifies opinion leaders and constituents for outreach, and helps to craft collateral materials for the project. She also provides research on legislative and regulatory issues and assists in relationship marketing campaigns. A graduate of Boston College, Ms. Beaton resides in Hanson, Massachusetts.
  
  
• Wesley Eberle has been promoted from associate director to director in the communications division. Mr. Eberle has developed and implemented media, public affairs, consumer and crisis communications strategies for public and private entities in areas that include real estate development, labor relations, public policy, telecommunications, and entertainment. A graduate of Boston University and an Illinois native, Mr. Eberle now resides in East Boston.
  
  
• Emily Lalone, formerly account coordinator, is now account executive within the communications division of the firm. As such, Ms. Lalone provides clients in the banking, real estate, law, telecommunications, and non-profit industries with a variety of their public relations initiatives, including messaging, branding, and extensive media relations. A Shrewsbury native and Boston College graduate, Ms. Lalone now resides in Brookline, Massachusetts.
  
  
• Laura Pierce is now a vice president in the firm’s communications division with more than ten years of experience in developing and implementing public relations strategies for corporate and non-profit clients. Ms. Pierce has managed major public relations campaigns for companies ranging from national consumer brands to venture-backed startups in markets as diverse as e-commerce, education, food and retail. Ms. Pierce is a graduate of UMass Amherst and currently resides in Arlington, Massachusetts.
