O’Neill and Associates Announces Promotions

Boston (May 12, 2010) – O’Neill and Associates, Boston’s leading full-service government relations and public relations firm, today announced the promotions of Vice Presidents Matthew Irish, Cosmo Macero Jr., and Ann S. Murphy to the role of Senior Vice President.  “I’m honored to acknowledge these hard-working members of our team. Their leadership is invaluable and appreciated, and we are proud to recognize their importance to the firm in their new positions as Senior Vice Presidents,” said CEO Thomas P. O’Neill III.

• Matthew Irish, has been promoted from Vice President to Senior Vice President within the government relations division. Drawing upon his years of experience with the Massachusetts state legislature and on numerous political campaigns, Mr. Irish develops and implements public affairs strategies that help clients reach their goals on the municipal, state, and federal levels. In his new position, Mr. Irish will play a greater role in expanding O’Neill and Associates’ government relations practice. A graduate of UMass-Amherst, he resides in Worcester, Mass.

• Cosmo Macero Jr., has been promoted from Vice President to Senior Vice President within the communications division. Mr. Macero’s client work touches virtually every major sector of the economy, including health care, financial services, energy services, real estate and development, tourism, and media. He offers insight on the worlds of media, business and government gleaned from his 17 years in the newspaper business. In his new position, Mr. Macero will play a greater role in expanding O’Neill and Associates’ public relations practice. A graduate of UMass-Amherst, Mr. Macero resides in Cambridge, Mass.

• Ann S. Murphy, has been promoted from Vice President to Senior Vice President within the communications division. In her new position, Ms. Murphy will play a continued leadership role in growing O’Neill and Associates’ communications practice. She offers clients more than 25 years of experience with the media, including professional roles in print and broadcast news as well as government, political and corporate public relations. Ms. Murphy provides a range of services including public relations, crisis communications, media training and speech coaching. Ms. Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalistic Studies and English from UMass-Amherst. She is a resident of Waltham, Mass.
