Citizens Bank
Challenge
When Citizens Bank re-launched their brand simultaneously with the acquisition of 20 new branch locations, the bank approached O’Neill and Associates for help expediting their applications for permits to install new signage at all of their locations throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Additionally, Citizens Bank hoped to generate excitement around their new brand and build goodwill with an unusual large scale display at their branch near Fenway Park in conjunction with the opening day of Red Sox baseball.
Solution
O’Neill and Associates shepherded the project through the approval processes of the Boston’s Redevelopment Authority, Environment Department, Landmarks Commission, Main Streets Program, Building Department and Inspectional Services Division as well as the corresponding entities in other towns.
Results
Citizens Bank received all of the necessary approvals to change over the branding at their new locations and open for business on schedule. O’Neill and Associates identified a provision in City of Boston regulations that allowed Citizens’ giant “rally cap” display with holographic “reverse the curse” signage to receive approval in time for opening day of baseball season.
