Dan Arsenault is a senior director in the government affairs practice based in Connecticut. Having worked in the state’s political arena for nearly a decade, his expertise includes public affairs, government relations, reputation management, and public relations.
Prior to joining O’Neill and Associates, Mr. Arsenault worked in both gubernatorial administrations of Connecticut Governors Dannel P. Malloy and Ned Lamont. Most recently he served as the legislative program manager and public information officer for the Connecticut Department of Housing. In this capacity he advised the administration on matters involving housing policy, especially multifamily development, land use, and zoning law. Mr. Arsenault worked closely with legislators to enact complex housing policy, in line with the administration’s goals. He’s also built several media availabilities and staged high profile public events attended by notable officials including the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Mr. Arsenault served directly in the executive office of Governor Malloy, working closely with members of the senior staff and helping to coordinate the operations of a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
Mr. Arsenault has broad experience lobbying the Connecticut legislature in the private and public sector as well as advising democratic candidates for the legislature on campaign strategy and grassroots organizing. He serves in several volunteer capacities in the greater Hartford region, most notably as a board member for the Governor M. Jodi Rell Center for Public Service and as a board director for Hands on Hartford. Mr. Arsenault has a Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Rhetoric and Professional Writing from the University of Hartford. A Massachusetts native, Mr. Arsenault grew up in Gardner, MA before attending school and moving to Connecticut. He currently resides in Hartford, CT.
