Laura Wareck is a vice president within O’Neill and Associates’ communications division. In this role, Ms. Wareck provides a range of public relations services, including strategic communications advice and counsel, media outreach, messaging and branding.
Ms. Wareck’s work is primarily focused on the education, healthcare, nonprofit, real estate development, and energy sectors. Current and past education and nonprofit clients include the Boston Foundation, America SCORES New England, the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling, the Environmental Defense Fund and Fisher House Boston.
Before joining O’Neill and Associates, Ms. Wareck worked in the marketing department of ESPN Radio Boston (890AM), where she coordinated promotions, managed the website, wrote on-air copy, contributed to the station’s blog and led the internship program. Ms. Wareck is also a former freelance reporter whose work has been published in the Clinton Courier, Lancaster Times, Mothertown, MetroWest Daily News, and Central Mass Magazine. She has also served as a book researcher for Doris Kearns Goodwin’s bestselling biography, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln.
Ms. Wareck graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Kenyon College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English, and later earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Emerson College. While at Kenyon, Ms. Wareck reported for the Kenyon Collegian and served as a student associate of the Kenyon Review. She also swam competitively as a member of Kenyon’s NCAA Championship swim team. Ms. Wareck currently serves on the Lynch Van Otterlo YMCA Board of Directors.
