Philip F. Wettengel serves as an account executive in O’Neill and Associates’ government relations practice. In this capacity, Mr. Wettengel assists the government relations team with client management, monitors hearings and legislation on behalf of clients, and provides administrative support. Mr. Wettengel also files lobbying disclosures and monitors procurement opportunities for clients.
Mr. Wettengel is an alumnus of O’Neill and Associates’ internship program, where he assisted the government relations division with developing policy communications and advising clients on local and state legislative practices.
Prior to joining O’Neill and Associates, Mr. Wettengel gained experience as an intern with the American Beverage Association in Washington, D.C. In this role, he built relationships with key lawmakers and lobbyists, attended Congressional hearings on behalf of ABA, assisted the VP of Governmental Affairs on various initiatives, conducted research on the “Soda Tax” specifically for Philadelphia soda tax, and prepared informational memos for briefings and meetings for senior ABA staff.
Mr. Wettengel also interned as a campaign processing assistant for United Way of Central Massachusetts in Worcester, MA, where he provided timely and accurate processing of a $5.7 million fundraising campaign, researched donor giving history, maintained a database of campaign pledges and gifts, as well as audited and reconciled corporate campaign pledges and gifts.
Mr. Wettengel graduated from Plymouth State University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Management. While he was an undergraduate, he served as treasurer and then president of the Plymouth State Snowboard Club and was a recipient of the Jason Tuscano Scholarship Award.
