Natixis Global Asset Management is one of the largest asset managers in the world with more than $600 billion under management through an extended family of independently-managed investment funds. O’Neill and Associates was retained by Natixis to develop a strategic public relations campaign aimed at raising the visibility of the company and its President and Chief Executive Officer John Hailer, who is also chairman of the New England Council. Despite being one of the fastest-growing and most successful companies in the industry, Natixis had received limited recognition as a major player in the city’s business community and CEO John Hailer had not yet established a profile as a major business and community leader.
O’Neill and Associates implemented a wide range of initiatives including media relations, event planning, messaging and media training for Natixis. O’Neill and Associates began by holding a messaging session to develop the messages that served as the foundation for the public relations campaign. O’Neill and Associates also developed and implemented an internal communications campaign, using Mr. Hailer, that proceeded in concert with the external communications campaign. O’Neill and Associates identified and pitched potential news stories, business profile subjects and other potential media opportunities for the company. As part of this, O’Neill and Associates created and implemented a quarterly series of Natixis-hosted panel discussions on various issues impacting the regional economy. These panels – two of which took place in Boston and another in Springfield – have featured a variety of CEOs, business and education leaders including Providence Mayor David Ciciline, Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, UMass President Jack Wilson and MassBay Community College President Carole Berotte Joseph.
The campaign has experienced tremendous success to date with several major initiatives and media stories. In addition, Natixis and John Hailer have been featured in a variety of major media outlets, including NECN, CNBC, Fox Business, Fox 25, the Boston Globe, Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, Boston Business Journal, the Boston Herald, the Patriot Ledger, the Springfield Republican, the Lowell Sun, the Providence Journal and several financial industry publications. As a result of O’Neill and Associates’ efforts, John Hailer’s public profile within the Boston business community as a thought and community leader was enhanced. O’Neill and Associates also successfully built Natixis’ corporate image in Boston and the New England region among industry peers, media, the business and political communities, and the general public.
