Enterprise Center, a $100 Million Development Set for Downtown Brockton, Is Primed to Drive Art in the City of Champions
Beyond the commissioned piece, the gallery will feature the work of the artists living at Enterprise Center’s Enso Flats apartments, an artists’ community of live-work apartments at the 3.2-acre development. Ten artists have already been selected through an application process to live at Enso Flats, 42 open-concept apartments with abundant natural light so that artists and their families can live and pursue their craft.
Trinity hopes to select an artist to create the permanent art piece in September. Five to ten artists will be selected to develop proposals for the permanent art piece, which is expected to incorporate attributes of Brockton’s historic character and culture. The proposals will be displayed at the 5th Annual Downtown Brockton Arts & Music Festival on August 29, 2015.
The competition winner will have at least $10,000 to create and install the artwork, which is to be unveiled in the spring of 2016.
Trinity, which has developed dozens of urban properties throughout Massachusetts, is working to complete the first phase of Enterprise Center, which will include 52,000 square feet of commercial/office space, 10,000 square feet of retail and 113 one-, two- and three-bedroom residential units.
