FAN EXPO Boston Returns!
Superheroes, time travelers, screen icons, and thousands of fans will return to Boston’s Seaport District this August for FAN EXPO Boston. The three-day comic and pop culture show will take place on August 16 to August 18 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and will feature an exciting line-up of celebrity guests including award-winning actor John Travolta who’s stopping by to promote his new film THE FANATIC!. Zachary Levi from the hit DC movie Shazam!, the cast of Boy Meets World, Peter Capaldi of Doctor Who in his first east coast appearance, as well as legendary comic creators and cosplayers.
The show includes a full schedule of events for fans of all ages. The show features a reunion of the Boy Meets World cast members, including William Daniels, Danielle Fischel, Will Friedle, Ben Savage and Rider Strong, appearing Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
FAN EXPO Boston’s other celebrity guests are also from hit movies and television shows and include: Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos of Blade Runner; Stephen Amell of Arrow; Zachary Levi of Shazam!; Corey Feldman of The Lost Boys, The Goonies and Stand By Me; Sean Astin of The Goonies and Lord of the Rings; and Ke Huy Quan of The Goonies and Indiana Jones.
Travolta will be bringing an exclusive sneak preview before the release of his new film THE FANATIC! in theaters on August 30th. The sneak preview will be held at FAN EXPO Boston on Saturday evening, August 17th and Travolta will appear at the show on Sunday, August 18th. The film is about a rabid film fan, played by Travolta, who is obsessed with his favorite action hero.
FAN EXPO Boston also announced that legendary comic creator Todd McFarlane, co-founder of Image Comics, creator of Spawn, and superstar Spider-Man artist has also been confirmed to appear at the show. McFarlane joins other comic luminaries including Mike Mignola, creator of HELLBOY, first time appearance of superstar creator Marc Silvestri, and legendary creator Arthur “Art” Adams.
For those interested in meeting the rising stars in the comic industry and those who work the front lines, they will once again have that opportunity in Artist Alley. Here visitors will find comics, graphic novels, limited edition prints and best of all, original art and sketches from your favorite artists.
FAN EXPO Boston 2019 also features experiences including Kids Zone & Family Lounge, with activities such as LEGO play stations, arts and crafts tables and cartoons, Cosplay Costume Contests for Adults and Kids and official after-parties throughout the weekend.
FAN EXPO Boston cosplayers will also appear at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown on August 14 to bring cheer to patients and help Spaulding celebrate Super Hero Day. In addition, FAN EXPO Boston will be hosting a Movie Musical Night at Faneuil Hall Marketplace on August 8th at the showing of Hairspray where lucky fans can win tickets to the show.
Tickets start at $35 and are available to be shipped to fans in the U.S. Celebrity photo ops, autograph sessions, workshops, and panel discussions will be available throughout the weekend.
