Framingham Business Launches Grassroots Buy Local Initiative
Initiative Will Help Connect Local Businesses, Consumers to Support Framingham Businesses Recovering from COVID-19 Crisis
Framingham, Mass. (June 23, 2020) – The Corner Cabinet, a Framingham-based business that provides cabinetry services, is launching a grassroots Buy Local initiative today to encourage businesses and residents alike to purchase goods and services from local Framingham-based businesses recovering from the economic crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative will ask businesses and residents alike to display Buy Local signage in their stores and on their social media platforms. Additionally, the grassroots campaign is encouraging the business community and residents to sign a pledge to utilize the goods and services offered by Framingham-based establishments whenever possible. And organizers are hoping that the Buy Local effort will connect Framingham businesses to each other through networking and more. Information on the campaign is available at the Corner Cabinet’s website https://www.thecornercabinet.com/buylocal/.
“The people of Framingham care very deeply about their community, and about making sure that everyone comes out of this pandemic as strongly as possible,” said Gina Richard of the Corner Cabinet. “We developed this initiative as a way of making it easier for Framingham’s business community to support each other and also to help residents know how they can help their friends and neighbors whose businesses have been hit hard by this pandemic.”
The grassroots Buy Local campaign is supported by Framingham’s Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC) and, through the EDIC, the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce.
“Pulling together as a community is a great way to ensure that Framingham’s economy remains as strong as possible during this very difficult time,” said Doug Lawrence, chair of the EDIC. “We applaud Gina Richard and The Corner Cabinet for developing this grassroots effort, and we’re pleased to support their hard work. I’m looking forward to seeing these Buy Local signs on businesses throughout Framingham.”
