National Braille Press to Host Blindfolded “Tasting With a Twist” at the Hampshire House
Experience dining like never before – in the dark – at National Braille Press’s (NBP) fourth annual ‘Tasting with a Twist’ fundraiser event on Thursday, March 19 at 6:00pm at the Hampshire House. At the event, a braille reader will guide participants, who will be blindfolded, through this fun-filled, interactive tasting event, where guests will use aroma, texture and taste to explore the evening’s menu without sight. Don’t miss out on this unique and unforgettable sensory dining experience.
NBP, founded in Boston 93 years ago, serves the blind and visually impaired community locally, nationally and globally by providing high-quality braille books and materials at a fair price, and also advocates for braille literacy.
Contributions made to NBP support the production of braille materials for the blind and visually impaired community. Braille books cost three to five times more to make than print books found in mainstream bookstores and online retailers. NBP is dedicated to ensuring equal access to books, educational materials, and technology guides by providing these materials at the same price as their print counterparts. NBP, the premier braille publisher, sparks and supports a lifetime of opportunity for blind children through braille literacy and provides access to information that empowers blind people to actively engage in work, family, and community affairs.
