National Braille Press to Host Virtual “Beats for Braille” Concert
Precious Perez
WHAT:
To celebrate National Volunteer Week, National Braille Press (NBP) is hosting “Beats for Braille,” a virtual concert, this Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 7:00pm. 17 blind musicians are donating their time to entertain and share their stories on why braille and braille literacy are important to them. There will be a range of music played from pop and parodies to rap and blues, something for everyone to enjoy.
Spearheading this effort is Precious Perez, a senior at Berklee College of Music, who is bringing together young musicians from across the country for this event. She has a double-major in music education and vocal performance. On top of going to online classes, Precious has been working tirelessly on the “Beats for Braille” project to support braille literacy.
