Hartford-based Daniel Arsenault named Senior Director in Government Relations Practice
Boston – Today, O’Neill and Associates, New England’s leading full-service government affairs and public relations firm, announced the expansion of its government relations capabilities in Connecticut with the hiring of Daniel Arsenault as Senior Director. Mr. Arsenault will be based in Hartford. In this role, Mr. Arsenault will provide legislative, policy, communications and public affairs support to clients drawing on his expertise in Connecticut state government, political campaigns, media relations and reputation management.

Prior to joining O’Neill and Associates, Mr. Arsenault worked in the gubernatorial administrations of Connecticut Governors Dannel P. Malloy and Ned Lamont. Most recently he served as the legislative program manager and public information officer for the Connecticut Department of Housing. In this capacity he advised the administration on matters involving housing policy, especially multifamily development, land use, and zoning law. Mr. Arsenault worked closely with state legislators to enact complex housing policy, in line with the administration’s goals. He also developed media availabilities and created high profile public events attended by the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Mr. Arsenault also served in the executive office of Governor Malloy, where he worked closely with members of the senior staff and helped coordinate the operations of a fast paced and constantly changing environment. An active volunteer within the greater Hartford community, he serves as a Board Advisor for the Governor M. Jodi Rell Center for Public Service at the University of Hartford. He is also a Board Director for Hands on Hartford, a local social service organization.
Mr. Arsenault received his Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Rhetoric and Professional Writing from the University of Hartford. A Massachusetts native, Mr. Arsenault grew up in Gardner, MA before attending school and moving to Connecticut.
