Onsite Doggy Daycare Remains a Draw for Young Professionals as One North of Boston Expands

March 4, 2016

The 90 dogs enjoying One North’s dog-friendly features will soon have more company.

One North of BostonAs One North of Boston opens leasing for another 222 units of its luxury apartments in Chelsea, Massachusetts, its developers are expanding on what has been the building’s most popular amenity – onsite doggy daycare.

One North of Boston, which leased its first 230 units in 2014, was the first luxury apartment building in Greater Boston to offer onsite doggy daycare as an amenity, and it drew dog lovers from across Boston and beyond. The service – called FETCH, and operated by The Dogfather – is One North’s most utilized amenity. Along with daycare hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., FETCH offers dog walking, play groups, grooming, indoor-outdoor dog runs, and pickup and drop-off services.

“Being a dog owner is a passion for many people, who must navigate the challenges of being the best owner possible while working long hours and living an urban lifestyle,” said Damian Szary, a principal of Gate Residential – the project’s developer. “One North ensures convenience and luxury not only for our residents, but for their furry friends as well. We’re a dog lovers’ community.”

“Here at FETCH, we put the health and happiness of our visiting pups first,” said Karen Ray, the owner of Dogfather, which operates FETCH. “Over the past 15 years we’ve created a great family environment, not only with our staff, but with our pups and their owners as well. That warm, caring, trusting feeling is our goal every time we welcome new pups and owners into our family.”

One North is currently home to 90 dogs, with about 30 dogs in daycare at a time.

Jacky Janko and her husband moved into the first phase of One North’s development in 2014 with their Boston Terrior, Zea, and have found the onsite doggy daycare to be a savior. “Not only is it incredibly convenient to have doggy daycare onsite, but it’s comforting to know that Zea is in excellent hands,” said Jacky Janko. “The FETCH team treats residents’ dogs with the utmost love and respect, and genuinely cares about their happiness and well-being. They are guardians, caretakers and playmates to these dogs each and every day.”

While One North attracts numerous dog lovers, it has also made dog owners of residents who came to the building pet-free and were attracted to the culture and ease of dog ownership that the development offers.

In addition to popular onsite doggy daycare and other services for dog lovers, One North offers additional popular amenities such as state-of-the art fitness centers with spin and yoga studios, an indoor basketball court, two pools with outdoor fire pits and grills, club suite and lounge, and two theatres.

“We’ve made it possible for residents to enjoy luxury living less than a mile from Boston without the Boston prices,” said Szary. “Whether One North residents choose to ride one train stop into Boston or explore the restaurants and shops continuing to emerge in Chelsea, they are experiencing a unique combination of luxury, accessibility, and affordability.”

Leasing of phase two began Friday, January 29, 2016. Appointments can be arranged by calling 617-889-8030 or visiting the leasing center on site at One North of Boston. For more information visit: http://www.onenorthofboston.com/
