On June 8, The3PointFoundation welcomed special guest Attorney General Maura Healey at an event to highlight its summer C.A.B. Academy (for Character, Academics, Basketball). Attorney General Healey spoke with students about their shared passion – basketball – and the tremendous impact it had on her life, building strength and determination that are essential on and off the court.

These are the very values that The3PointFoundation was founded to instill in the elementary and middle school boys it serves, coaching them in character development, academics and basketball. At the program’s summer C.A.B. Academy, students study math, science and language arts while learning to swim and taking part in basketball and sports conditioning.

Founded in March 2012 with encouragement from the Boston Celtics’ ownership, The3PointFoundation began offering unique basketball-based summer and after-school academic and character development programs to boys in Boston’s urban neighborhoods. In less than three years, the foundation has grown from serving 15 to over 200 elementary and middle school boys.
